Personal alarms

Anyone have any experience of the alarm/phones that you hang about your person to be used in cases of emergency and it 'phones a friend' .

Aged neighbour of mine was looking for something in case she took a fall or worse.

Does the Local Health Board offer this service or would you have to go private?
