Pepper wanted to charge €1,903 for a Pandemic moratorium!

Whilst not directly related to this situation, Pepper wanted to charge us €1903 to arrange a mortgage moratorium with no extension to term when we enquired at the beginning of the pandemic.
Fortunately we didn’t require the moratorium but it does illustrate gouging by Pepper.

Was that on your home or an investment property?

If it was your home, it was a very serious breach of the Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears and should be reported to the Central Bank.

or was this the cost of taking the moratorium? The spreading of the cost of not paying the scheduled payment during the moratorium spread over the remaining term.
