Pension option for PAYE with some self-employment income

I am a PAYE employee for 90% of my income but would also have some income from self-employment. I have a non-contributory pension with the day job. My query is can I pay money into a personal pension to off-set my tax liabilities on self-employed income? Due to my age, I could pay 20% of my income into a pension but is this calculated on my total income or my self-employed income?
Any advice would be most welcome.

You can have two pensions, if you want. An AVC or AVC PRSA in respect of 20% of your PAYE income and a Personal Pension or PRSA in respect of 20% of your self-employed income.
