By mortgage break I assume you mean an interest only period, as AFAIK no bank is offering a full repayment break. It all depends on the Bank, the LTV on the property and your repayment record.
Best to send in your request in writing and highlight the fact that this should not be a MARP issue as you will resume full repayments after the break period. Also, look at your Letter of Offer. Some banks included an ability to take a break period as part of the T&C's of the facility.
