Paying off lump sum on mortgage - delays by bank in actioning

What is a reasonable time for a bank to act on simple instructions to debit my current account and credit my mortage ?

Im waiting a week - it was acknowledged the day i sent it

I’m waiting nearly 2 weeks with AIB.I’d given the forms into our local branch who would them forward them onto the mortgage team.

thats shocking... they are making the full loan spread by not actioning a simple account transfer

If you have online banking, you can do an online transfer, it is instant. You can see it leaving your account and credited against the mortgage account immediately.

Side note, if you have not already, you can get your mortgage account added to your online banking, it is nested under SETTING section. You can see live balance, so no need to even wait for letter of acknowledgement.
