PAYE workers filing tax returns

Is it true that all PAYE workers are obliged to file tax returns for 2005 even if they had no income other than PAYE income?

Hi

Not sure if its true all must file returns, but certainly if you had any income outside of PAYE income which is taxed at source, you must file your return, pay your tax etc :)

The entire process is daunting to be quite honest, why cant they make it more simple to file a return, pay tax in income from shares etc ?

- there must be a book or website outthere entitled tax retuns for dummies or something, to help the likes of me ? (anyone able to help pls :))

Cheers

I've never heard that about the 2005 tax year and PAYE workers and have not filed a Form 12 return for several decades now. Instead I just write to Revenue with details of any claims (including the relevant form(s)) or changes to my situation when they arise and that works fine for me.
