Does anyone know where a PAYE worker puts rental income/loss on the tax return for a single property in France. I've looked at Form 12 but can't figure it out. They have made the profit and loss calculation but don't know what figures to put on the form or where. It's basically rental income less mortgage interest and there is wear and tear I assume on the fixtures on fittings.

On the F12 it would be panel 26 - Other foreign income. Shown as the net income after expenses/interest/W&T. If it is a loss, enter 0 in the income panel with a note to the side that loss of €x made which is c/fwd to following year. There isn't scope on the form for the expenses as in the case of Irish rents. But you must have a copy of the Income & Expenditure account available in case of Revenue audit.
