Hi

Ive had a bit of look through previous posts and cannot find a definitive answer - hopefully someone can assist.

This is my situation and Ive put in correct figures,

- I'm an Irish citizen and have always paid my taxes in Ireland
- I currently work for and have worked an Irish Co for the last 12 years.
- I have a joint mortgage with my wife and we reside in Glasgow
- We have two children
- As part of my job I travel a lot and only spend @ 150 days p.a. in Glasgow so I am a PAYE worker in Ireland
- We got married in March 2012
- I was advised yesterday by my employer that they have not changed my status with the Tax Office to married (I know, mea culpa I should have checked but they advised they would amend it for me...any way)
- my wife is a UK Citizen and we have no plans to reside in Ireland in the foreseeable future

So my questions are, and any advice is much appreciated

- I have to advise Revenue of my change in circumstances - I called today and have an "Assessable Spouse Election Form" to complete and return

- Since my wife is resident outside the State and has no intention of taking up residency do I advise her wage, which is as follows since our marriage (she now works part-time)

April 2012 - April 2013 - STG£ 15,500 (she was on Maternity Leave)
April 2013 - April 2014 - STG£ 11,500 (she was on Maternity Leave)
April 2014 - April 2015 - STG£ 13,000 (now part time)

or do I leave it blank for her earnings as she did not earn in the State and just advise her UK National Insurance Number?

- My salary as per my 2012 P60 was EUR 39,949.20 for 2013 it was EUR 35955.52

Any idea how to proceed?

Will I be receive credits as a Married Person?
Stay as a Single Person?
Can I reclaim any tax back from the date of our Wedding March 2012?

Any assistance or guidance would be much appreciated

Many thanks
