Does your contract of employment state that your employer will pay anything while out on sick leave? There is no statutory entitlement to paid sick leave but some contracts provide for it. You may qualify for some PRSI linked benefit or means tested allowance payment from SW when on sick leave - see www.welfare.ie.
So it seems that sick pay comes out of PRSI. No pay from work. So if one has'ent enough PRSI credits up , would i be right in saying i cannot get sick pay, my partner is earning around 600 gross per week.
