So, the day has come, meeting appointment for a "rate review".
Any suggestions or views to share.
5 years as contractor with this company , have had 1 increase 2.5% in 2008.
Averaging 2000 hours a year, work load has greatly expanded since initial start. No on site perks, often work weekends, bank holidays at same hourly rate, usual "expenses" benefits.

Ltd company, via an agent usual arrangement. They get our rate plus as little as 4 or 5 euro. Other agents have a 10-15 euro mark up.

So your rate review would presumably be carried out with the agent / service provider and not directly with the Pharma Co.?

If the agent can get an extra few euro from the Pharma Co. for your services then they can afford to pass some or all of the increase on to you.....?

In a similar position but with a service provider that creams €15 off the rate charged to the end user before passing on to me (Ltd. Company also)

hmm, we are all having one 2 ones with management, no agent involment at all and they ( the agents)didnt respond to any emails from us, on our own I suspect.

My rate has been reduced by a total of 15% since the heady days of mid 2008 (4 decreases in total)

Death by a thousand cuts...........

The company who I work for (i.e. the company to whom I am contracted and not the end user which is a US multinational pharma co.) still make a 30% profit on the rate they pay me.

The rates that the big pharma co's pay have definitely come down also but 30% is a very healthy margin in my opinion.

By the way I am not an IT contractor

Im not IT either.

We have a new agent offering a flat €2 an hour charge , now to work out how to leave current agents
