Hi there,

hope somebody can help. If you work week on week off what happens when there is a bank holiday? Some people obviously working the week on the week of Paddy's and others off that week.
Is it just a day in lieu for those who are off?

thanks a mill.

If you work 50% of the time then you get 50% pay for all bank holidays. That's the same if you work 1/2 a week or every second week.

Like Purple said you are entitled to 50% of of the public holidays.

A day in lieu is fine. I give the person rostered off an extra days leave ie: 1/2 day.

Ive another twist on this, I am in full time employment and have been asked to work St Patricks day, my employer said hed give me a day in lieu but I think i should get a day and a half?

I work full time,Monday to Friday 9am to 17:30. Would this vary for me?

That's a normal day's work. Your employer has offered you a day in lieu which is the norm. Why not take a Monday or Friday and make a long weekend of it?

I will take a friday from it, probely makes no differance but I am only contracted into this company and I am not an employee of them, I am contracted from my own employeer to them for the last 2 years.
They asked me directly to work the 17th as if they had asked my boss they would have had to pay him i expect.
