Hi
I may need to employ some part time workers for a couple of weeks
if I get an expected contract later this year. I am wondering is this
a cut and dry process, How do I know if some of the part timers are
on social welfare? I presume I will be responsible to check that out.
Any other checks I need to carry out? at minimum wage what other
related taxes do I pay on them? I looked on citizensinformation.ie but its not that clear. Any info appreciated.

File a form 12A to tax office or get a p45 from them from tax credit's.
For part time workers especially double check you have a tax cut off point/standard cut off rate for each as you could become liable for not deducting
enough http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/claim-forms.html link for form
If at min wage, should be little tax to be paid but you must pay employer prsi at 8.5% of Gross(Unless you get an exemption)
