I’m treating Mrs PMU to a slap up weekend in Paris soon. Normally, we eat somewhere good value (i.e. cheapo) such as Chartier . But this time I’m thinking of something a bit more up market, such as le Tour d’Argent http://www.tourdargent.com/ or L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon http://www.joel-robuchon.com/. Have any AAMers ever eaten in either of these and which would you recommend, also how much should one budget?

I've eaten at Tourdargent (not under my own steam). The food was fantastic and it was an amazing experience. It was very expensive but it was about 15 years ago and Paris was expensive back then. I’d say you’d pay more in Patrick Guilbaud’s for the same thing.
