Parental Leave Query - how to breakdown hours

Hi, I want to propose to my employer to take Parental leave for my daugher who is 7.

I am proposing to work a reduced week from 35 hours to 25.

Can someone tell me how many "hours" I am entitled to. The Act says 14 weeks - is this 70 working days (5x7) or 98 (7x7) working days.

Not sure employer will opt for it though but fingers crossed - I just want to have my figures so I can say I want to work 25 hours for X amount of weeks.

Your entitlement is 35 x 14 = 490 hours or 49 weeks working 25 hours per week.

as far as I was aware, parental leave must be taken before the child is 6. Was it increased?

it was changed to 8 years of age.

Ok. Didn't know that. Means we have another 2 years to decide now whether we can afford to take it up.
