Palmela Golf Village, Portugal near Lisbon

Good Afternoon

I am very new to this although I registered a while ago, so please bear with me!

I bought a studio and a one bed apt through Larionovo. Can anyone tell me if they have received any rental income yet?

Also can anyone recommend a good solicitor to find out if I actually do own these properties?

ggc, are you saying that you didn't use a solicitor for your purchase ?.

Big Rog, Stop being judgmental and give advice.
ggc, I'm sure you went the same route with Larionovo as we did, Solicitor in Albufeira and mortgage with BCP. If you have closed on the apartments because of the developer's delay of 8 months, payment of rental begins in Jan 09. Ring Maeve Larionovo 0656865577 to check where you stand.

We did use the recommended solicitor. After reading all the postings about this we were just a bit worried that's all.

Nobody has been able to contact Larionovo because they went into liquidation today

Hi Everybody,
Just because you paid your deposit to Larinova for Pamela Village does'ent mean you are going to lose money. More than likely your 4k reservation deposit was their commission plus more. Your balance of 20% was transferred to the Solicitor (I hope) so you wont lose anything as you are now dealing with the developer Pelicano and the balance of your funds/mortgage is going straight to the developer not Larinova.
The only people who need worry is those that paid deposit's recently and its possible they may not have been passed on and this should have been no more than 3k/4k.

It is always best to use an independent solicitor...not one who is recommended by the developer or his agent! Whose side do you expect the recommended solicitor to be on? It is only the very naive purchasers who would use any solicitor recommended by a vendor or his agent in any overseas country.

ggc - Just heard Larionovo is in liquidation, liquidator is Paul McCann and accountants Grant Thornton Ian Barrett is dealing with issues. email ian.barrett@grantthornton.ie. Profile don't want to know, nobody knows where they stand just have to let it unravel itself. How did we know this would happen when the final closing date was 25th November 08 the same day Larionovo went bust.
Nobody knows that they have gone bust only if one rings up and gets a recorded message. Slippery!!!!

It is not a case of one upmanship. I was giving advice and that advice was when you are purchasing a property abroad you should always use your own independent solicitor and not one that that has been recommended by the developer.

Need to calm down here regarding Palmela Village if you purchased and signed contracts over the last two years as you are now dealing with the developer Pelicano through your Solicitors.
I was very impressed today to receive a call from Maeve from Larinova to ask me what my position was as they were in liquidation. I was glad to inform her that I arranged my own mortgage and changed my Solicitor and am due to close by 22nd Dec. But remember Maeve dident work for this outfit when they sold our properties and therefore could not be responsible for the overcharging (in my case) follow up etc. I would be very surprised that anyone purchasing in Pamela Village who have their contract signed will be affected by LARINOVA going into liquidation. So contact your Solicitor to find out where you stand.
