I got a guy out last week to quote for painting the inside of my parents house. It is a standard sized 4 bed semi.
Halls, stairs and landing.
Sitting Room.
Dining/Kitchen (which is tiled up to the underside of presses)
Sunroom (has a wooden ceiling, which is already stained)
All internal doors - approx 7-8 - which are already painted white and only about 3 of them are really bad - the others just have a few cracks/gaps in them.
Clean all external windowsills and paint white - approx 8 sills.
€2,100 including paint & materials. Does this sound reasonable?
I know a guy who is very fast at painting, he gets tons done in a day. As soon as he walks into a job he starts painting. The reason he is so fast is he doesn't bother to do any preparation the job doesn't do any sanding nor filling nor keying of the surfaces. He's cheap though.
On the issue of the thread, the OP's quote looks fine to me even with the paint included
