Painted a garden wall last year and what looks like mould and moss is appearing around the block joints a year later
Its just a perimeter wall, not connected to the house.
What can i put on it before painting next time to prevent this mould coming through?
I did give it a good power wash last time but maybe not enough.

1. Power Wash it again and remove moss + lichen and . . .
2. When dry use a large paint brush (not a roller) to put a coat of diluted Domestos on the wall.
3. When dry paint again and you can use a roller (but don't use cheap paint).

Very sound advice

I'm not sure but I thought 'real' painters use some form of anti fungal spray or similar before painting.

Power washing can accelerate moss, lichen and general gunge on concrete, stone and roof tiles. That said, domestos should see it off.

1. Anti fungal spray is more expensive than bleach, but bleach is just as good even the economy products e.g. Dunnes, Aldi etc own brands.
2. Ratio of Bleach to Water:- Use as much bleach as you can afford and paint it on unsparingly. (Use eye protection, I should have mentioned this earlier) and keep children at at distance.
