This is not for me but a family member. I've reviewed recently received P21s from the Revenue which concludes with an over payment. The person in question submitted the relevant tax returns correctly, but from my analysis of the figures it seems Revenue have got their figures wrong. I'm trying to persuade the individual to correct the Revenue errors (and not spend the money!!), but they keep saying its their fault etc etc.
I am right is saying the revenue can come back to this anytime in the future requesting a refund? To be honest I can understand how a mistake can happen etc, but to do the same mistake on multiple returns, well thats just sloppy. No wonder the country is in such a state, you'd think with Revenue who govern the tax laws of the country they should at least implement them correctly.
I'll get my way in the end as this person will only come running back to me and I want a quiet life
