Overlaping health insurance?

Hi,

I have a Hospital Plan from VHI with renewal in September and separate VHI Health Step plan for day-to-day medical expenes with renewal in February. I now changed my jobs and my new employer offers Aviva Plan 06 insurance for me. Obviously I can't take it now - i need to wait until my Hospital policy reneval in September but I don't know what I suppose to do with this Health Step policy? If I renew this now and take an offer on Aviva Plan 06 in September I would have two policies from two different insurers. And if I cancel this policy now I won't be able to claim any expenses betwen now and September....

Any advise on that? Is it even legal to have two policies from different insurers?
 
Cancel your policy with VHI from now if ur employer is paying the one with Aviva. I had a similar situation and they seem to allow you to switch if employer is paying another one for ya. The Healthsteps isnt a hospital policy so you can keep that one if u like and there isnt any ramifications!
