Outdoor christmas lights

I was hoping to put up outdoor lights in a tree in our back garden since we now have an outside socket. Having looked at the selection available in woodies and the like, all of them seem to suggest that you have to have them plugged into an inside socket which involves putting the flex through a open window etc, something which I hoped to avoid. Any one know where I can get outside lights that can be plugged into an outside socket. I just want plain white ones.

I have an outside double socket which has a cover over it with a seal. You plug an ordinary plug into it and the cover comes over it and creates a seal to keep out the water.

Ruffmut,
My outside socket is similar, does this mean that the outdoor lights I saw could be used with this type of outdoor socket?

Once there is no transformer with them, if there is, sometimes the transformer has to be kept indoors though the lights might work outdoors. i.e. you plug the transformer inside then run the cable out through the window etc but if there isn't a transformer then they should be good to plug directly into your outdoor socket.

Ok so basically what I need are outdoor lights without a transformer. Will keep looking!

Yes thats right. Once there is no transformer to keep dry. Woodies are selling a lot of lights for outside use without a transformer.
