Hi
I was receiving Mortgage Interest Supplement for 12 months, when it stopped with 2 weeks notice. I was informed that it stopped as this supplement is only valid for 12 months. I appealed this decision to the relevant department and the appeal was dismissed. I appealed it again and I now have an oral hearing in relation to it.
Has anybody been to an oral hearing as would love to know what to expect.
The appeals officer will be chairing the hearing. There may or may not be a representative from the HSE present. You will get to present your case and the HSE will get to present theirs. They may just have made written submissions to the appeals officer. Once all the evidence is in the appeals officer will make a decision and inform you by post. It is all very informal and nothing to worry about.
