Opinions on new VW Passats??

Seen a few on forecourt and passed a few.

The higher spec ones look good - 6 fwds etc. The sliver trim around them looks way better than the plain version. Think are supposed to be bigger but dont really look it. Nice front grille, look a bit BMWish which is no harm I suppose!!

Seems to be pitched a bit further up the food chain than previous models - dunno if this is fact or just impression.

I believe they are aimed at a differenet market segment and that the new bora (see here - the bora is called Jetta in the some markets) is to be aimed at the old Passat market.

Personally I think the new Passat (I like - & drive - the old model) is a bit of a let down. I was expecting something more striking from the photo's I'd seen.

It's suppoed to rival the C Class Merc...much like the Accord.

Looks very good and the spec is pretty good. Also pretty thoughful extras like hooks in the boot to hang your shopping on etc....

Not exactly radical in its design though but I'm sure it'll be very popular. Supposedly a far better car than the last one anyway.

They look good, but are expensive, and are still a Volkswagen.

Buy a used Mondeo.
