Hi, Was wondering if I'm entitled to the one parent tax credit. My kids are living in England but come to stay with me several times a year, I pay maintenace to my ex wife every month. Have been on to the Revenue and have been told to send in OP1 form. They couldnt tell me if i was entitled to it or not. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Joe

As long as the child lives with you for at least one night in the tax year you should be eligible for the tax credit. There is nothing to suggest that the child must be living in Ireland for the remainder of the year.

The second condition is that you must not be living with your partner/wife or any other partner as husband and wife
