One maternity leave running into another

If this is on the wrong board, please move it!

I took maternity leave from work in June. (Work makes up the rest of my wages while on leave.)
Paid maternity leave finished at the end of November.
Unpaid maternity leave will finish at the end of March.
Between holidays and public holidays I am due back to work at the beginning of June (but will be back on the payroll since end of March).
I am due out on maternity leave again Mid July.

Has anyone been in this situation and did your employer honour your wages for the second term of Maternity leave? Or does anyone know anything about it.. are they likely to tell me I'm chancing it, and not pay me!!

I agree with Purple. The sooner you tell them the better though as if they have someone in replacing you they may want to keep this person on (or not).

If either established custom & practice in your company or provided for in your contract, not relevant about timing of your 2nd period of leave....you should be paid. But do make sure you give relevant notice ( and I suggest asap). This situation arises often.

Thanks everyone.
I emailed our HR department and got them to send me on a copy of the Maternity Leave policy. And one line clearly states "(Name of Company omitted!!) pays full salary while on maternity leave, so social welfare contributions will be deducted at source".

I was just nervous that since the increase in maternity leave that they might amend their policy.. which I'm sure they are entitled to do! Anyway, it looks to be all sorted. I might mail the HR girl again today, to share my good news!!

Thanks for replies.
