Old PC not near Wireless Router

Hi All

I have just purchased Eircom Wirelss BB. My main reason for going wireless was to get rid of long phone cable going from upstairs bedroom to phone socket downstairs! However, my PC does not have a wireless card. I would appreciate it if you could help me out with my options i.e. need to keep router by phone line downstairs and need to keep PC upstairs but don't want cables between.

All help/suggestions much appreciated.

A wireless usb network adaptor will do the job.

Available in shops.
 
Get a PCI or USB wireless networking adaptor to enable your PC for wireless networking. See [broken link removed] for example but shop around.

Just to clarify, from the above link, you're looking at the 29 euro items 'Wireless USB Adapter" if you have a USB port, or the "Wireless PCI Card" if you dont. USB is easier to install if you have USB ports on your PC..
