oil filled radiators

Hi all

I am thinking of buying an oil filled radiator.

Are they hard on power and is it true the oil stays hot longer when power off

As I am trying to avoid the mess of coal in open fire which I have in my new house, I would much appreciate any help/advice anyone can give. I also have gas central hearting and want the rad to spot heat living room

I think they are the most economical type of electric heating they retain heat for a while when switched off But remember ALL electric heating tends to be expensive these days.If you buy an oil filled rad go for one with a timer +cool touch sides for safety.They are widly available,

which are supposed to be cheaper on power?
