I have a period property in Castleblayney, the private rental market seems to be quiet so I was thinking it might be an idea to advertise as Shared Office Space, is this a good idea or should I look at maybe a company taking the full house ? anyone know what the pro's and con's are of doing this ?
thanks Slick

Is this a residential property or a commercial property?
Would you not have to apply for a material change of use to let it out to office users if it's a residential one?
If it's not a residential property, how do you propose to manage the shared office space? Do you have a way of separating all the bills, ESB meters etc?

Slick: I am aware of 9 investors from the cooley area who have purchased 9 houses in a new housing project in blayney who think there is plenty of rental market in the town. houses have only started being built but maybe there is a different market for a period property.

As already mentioned, planning permission will be a very important factor.

You might find it useful to have a chat with re the potential of your project, funding that might be available and any companies they may have looking for office space in your area.
