I don't - but the Ramones do!

One-two-three
Go for it

You don't want to share with anyone else
You got all the money, you got all the wealth
You got all the buildings and the factories
You got all the power (and the ceremonies)

You wanna play a game of cat and mouse
With the President in the White House
This is a hungry world, there are months to feed
There are millionaires with more than they need

Eat that rat

One-two-three

Don't believe what you've been told
You can't change a turd into gold
Somehow we get all these creeps in control
It makes me throw up in the toilet bowl

You thieving whore, you hustle for bucks
You take the money and you shoot it up
That's the breaks, it's the chance you take
Get it together for your children's sake

Eat that rat

Re: Job Offer!!

basically sales executive opening an Irish branch selling properties in the middle east

Re: Job Offer!!

How well established is this company in Ireland? This could have an impact on how long this job lasts
What experience qualifies you for the job and how transferable are your skills? What will you do if the company closes its' irish branch?
I am familiar with this type of company. It tends to be very sales orientated, you will be expected to do a huge amount of "donkey" work such as mailshotting, cold calling etc in order to bring in the sales. Your salary will be quite low and supplemented with sales commission. There are high burn out rates in this type of company - take it from someone who deals with them on daily basis. Long hours are the norm.
Rewards are high though and you can do really well for yourself if you have the hunger and the drive to succeed.

What do you stand to loose.
Are you giving up a job that you like or one that drags you down. If the latter then go for it. If the former then go for it. Change is good and brings experience.

Sounds like a <expletive deleted> job -- start up an office for an agency who have heard that you can sell any kind of garbage to the paddys and at any price. Work yourself to the bone in the belief that you will get rewards when it all comes together. They will be able to dip their toes in the water, if you drag in a few sales it will more than cover your costs, and as a previous poster mentioned you will probably be getting most of your earnings on a commission basis. If it doesn't go well for them, they can drop you like a hot potato some monday morning and you can spend the next month chasing them for overdue commission!

Now, there's a reality check for you!

Seriously though, if an international company of any calibre were to set up here, they would send a senior manager here to do the start-up, with you to assist. If you want to learn this business, go and work in the UK or Spain for one of the big companies at ground level and work your way up to the management stream as you gain experience.

One other point -- isn't it scary that someone with no experience of overseas property might suddenly be selling the stuff to Irish buyers?

Here's an article from the Sunday Times about a person who was employed to sell property on the Costa

"Confessions of a Costa agent Fairy-tale promises of property growth, tax dodges and relentless sales pitches: John Arlidge of The Sunday Times tells one woman’s story of flogging the dream to naive British buyers on the Spanish coast"

Personally I think I'd avoid it. Your swimming with sharks. Lies and high pressure selling techniques.
