My father has recently passed away and I am sorting his affairs.
He was in a nursing home for the last 12 months and had a home care package prior to that with an agency. He paid his own charges in both cases.
He was in the nursing home under the Fair Deal scheme - but still paid approx €3k per month.
I am doing his tax return - can tax relief be claimed on these payments on his behalf?
