Notice to give someone currently renting a car space

I recently bought an apartment that came with a parking space, this car space is currently being rented by someone. The property company says there is no documentation of any agreement with the renter.

Is there any law/rules about giving notice to someone to vacate the parking space? Or is it a simple matter of one day's notice?
 
Is the car parking space that came with the appartment a designated space or just a "car parking space"?
 
Did the owner agree something. Your solicitor should check this.
 
AFAIK. This is not covered by legislation it depends on what was agreed between the previous owner and the renter.

Your best option to to speak to them directly. If they are difficult about giving up the space, tell your solicitor in no uncertain terms that this is his/her problem and if they do not get it resolved within a fortnight you will complain to he law society.

While such an arrangement is unusual, and might be difficult for the solicitor to spot, that is why people use solicitors for conveyancing. The solicitors job was to get you clear title and it seems that have not done so.
 
Check your title documents to make sure that you are actually the legal owner of that car parking space.

Who is receiving the rent for the space ?

If the above is in order I would give the "tenant" written notice of determination of the "lease". A month would be reasonable. If they contest it they may have a copy of the "lease" to show you as part of their argument.
 
Just tell them (via a note on the windscreen if necessary) that you bought the apartment and the car space that comes with it. If they have paid money in advance for the space they need to take it up with whoever they rented the space from.

Exactly as above. A polite note, maybe give a few days notice so you are seen as reasonable.
 
Probably a cash in hand arrangement. Ask the vendor to notify them that the arrangement is over or leave a note on the windscreen. If the apartment is in a big enough block, there's a good chance they can rent a space from someone else.

From a security point of view, the vendor should get the fob back too.
