Notice period

When an employer is making redundancies, does the notice period in a permanent contract come into consideration? i.e. if an employee has to give 3 months notice when wanting to leave the company, does the employer have to pay/give 3 months notice in the case of redundancy?

Yes - if you are being made redundant, you have to be given the notice in your contract or the minimum notice for redundancy (based on length of service), whichever is longer.
