Hi,

I've just received a letter from revenue - Notice of Seizure Customs Consolidation Act, 1876 - notifying me that goods I ordered online - (antibiotics) have been seized and are liable to forfeiture.

I've been invited to apply in writing to make a claim.

Does anybody have any experience of how this plays out? - do I pay duty and then claim - what are 'settlement terms' mentioned?

the value of the goods is in the order of €50.

thanks

I would imagine drugs are seized just because they are medicines and are controlled substances. This was discussed before on AAM. See here.

gone now

hey this has happened to me twice they wrote asking for the website name etc i did not give them any info they send another letter asking again then destroy them u wont get them back there gone now
all they want from you is the website you bought from u dont have to give them it why should u as they still wont give you the meds back
my advice bin the 3 letters
they cant do anything too u

A similar thing happened me a while back. Got a letter from Revenue saying I owed them duty. Argued the case back and forth via email and eventually they just got sick of me and post me out my stuff
