Hi. I moved temporarily to Greece in May 2008 and recently submitted my form 11 to the revenue for 2008. The revenue now want to view me as non-resident. I have no foreign income for 2008 but do have some for 2009. How does this affect my tax liability?

If you are non-resident in Ireland you will be entitled only to tax credits in the proportion that they bear to your Irish income over your total income.
You will be taxable in Ireland only on Irish source income.

However, if you return to Ireland before you have actually broken residence, you will then remain taxable in Ireland on your worldwide income.
