nokia 6300 ear phones will not work

The radio does not seems to work anymore when I plug in the ear phones and select radio nothing happens, also the ear phones will not work when I want to use them when using the phone while driving, I have tried another set of ear phones same result, It is a job phone and there is alot of hassel if I want to change it. If I reset settings on phone to factory settings could this solve the problem, I do not want to do that as I am not sure if I will lose any date ie pictures already on phone. anyone know what might be the issue thanks

This may sound simple but it should work. Power off your phone, take out the battery, re-insert the battery and power on again. The same thing happens to my radio on my Nokia phone, doing this restores the radio. Hope it works for you.

Agreed only noticed when I read it back,I cant seem to edit title
 
I have sorted this issue out,I fiddled around with the connection from earphones and it worked, the problem is with the phone not the earphones,so it works now .
