I live in a housing estate and there is a fool outside with an angle grinder at 8.30 in the morning on a saturday. Is there a law against this? I thought there was certain times people could operate machinery or make loud noise?
Or is this just based on each esate and the rules laid out by the management company. I feel like throwing something at him
Early if you work during the night or late at night. Not everyone has 9-5 jobs. I finish at 3am most nights so would be raging if work was going on at 8.30am.
I understand, but the official definition of 'day' under noise statue is 07:00, which corresponds roughly to the majority of work. There will always be cases where this mightn't suit, as you point out.

This example might be a one off so could be excused.
The two that REALLY annoy me are:
- People who throw their dogs out at 7:30am before they head off to work so they can bark all day long in the street
- Those who decide to cut their grass during the summer at 9am.
Now admittedly the last one could be excused, but I am a shift worker, so you can see how the 1st one really gets on my nerves. I have reported it to the local dog warden 3 times over the last 12 months and have yet to see them come out to check the estate.
