no water in hot tap

hi everyone
i have a problem with my kitchen sink. when i turn the tap to cold its fine but no water comes out when i turn it to hot. any idea where to start?? all other taps in house are fine. appreciate any help!
 
Same happened to our Hot water in bath tap, tried everything but in the end had to get the plumber in, its perfect again now.
 
what did you try??
i have a mixer tap and am going to take it apart 2nite to clean it out
 
Have you recently had the hot water off?

Could be an airlock.

How does it feel when you twist the tap handle?

Could be a stuck washer.
 
havent had the hot water off (dont even know how to do that)
i had the mains off last week but this tap was fine afterwards. where would the stuck washer be?
 
try this first.

Open hot tap, place cloth over nossle of tap and grip tightly, open cold tap slowly. this will force the cold water up the hot line. This will free any air locks, if it is an airlock. You may have to try it for up to 30 seconds at a time. It may not work the first few times.

the washer is at the end of the spindle that is under you tap handle.
