I've no water from my main kitchen tap or outside tap so presume my mains is frozen.

I checked the water tank and it has water, doesn't look frozen etc.

Water is operating upstairs but I presume this will run out so I shouldn't use it.

My neighbours have water.

What do I do? Help please as I haven't a clue...

Don't Panic...as there is not much you can do tonight anyway. If you have an immersion I would turn it off anyway.

Supply from your attic tank to upstairs tap and hot tap in kitchen will dry up as the tank empties, due to flusing of loo's etc but there is usually enough water in tanks to cover breakdowns like this.

My first worry would be to have some buckets of water to top up loo cistern in case it runs out. Neighbours might help you here but you should be grand overnight unless you have visitors and a full house.

The frozen pipe/stop cock may start to thaw during tomorrow but other s are better able to offer you advice on this problem.

Hey thanks.
A neighbour gave me two big bottles of water so it'll keep me going till tomorrow at any rate.

I have a load of family coming for Christmas so hopefully it'll thaw before then.

No need to do this. The immersion cylinder will always be full unless you deliberately drain it using the stop cock at the bottom.

thats true but I was thinking if attic tank was empty there is no point in heating the water in hot water cylinder if it can't be used (wont flow)

Good point if it the storage tank in the attic is empty, but chances are there'll be a few days supply provided you're a little sensible about useage.
