No room for curtain rail??

I've just had a bedroom dry lined and now there is only 3cm between the window wall and the door of the built in wardrobe, so there isn't room for a curtain rail. Has anyone any ideas? I could make a Roman blind for it but the kit that you buy for it would only work if the blind was inside the window recess and I'd rather it went outside it. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I've seen curtain rails that were ceiling mounted in other countries. Not poles but just rails. very modern looking. never seen it here.

Talk to your local curtain supplier, not the big retail outlets - they usually have gems (usually retired males) who have been doing this stuff for years and will fit a rail into any spot. If you suggest that you'll buy the curtain rail and fittings in the shop based on advice, I'm sure you'll come out trumps!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll go to a fabric shop and see if they have any suggestions there, thx.

A Roman Blind can also be fitted outside the window, allow it to overlap at both sides by the 3cm and it will look fine. A good curtain fitter can hang a rail to the ceiling if you really want curtains, make sure you know exactly what you will be getting before ordering though!!
