No hot water in tank in attic

We have had no cold water up until mid afternoon today. However low pressure cold water has been back on since about six this eve. However the hot water tank in the attic is completely empty and no water appears to be going into it. We have shut off the heating. Can anybody help here as to what we shoud do?

hi happygirl.

the water pressure is too low to fill the header tank and it won't fill until your water pressure returns to normal. in the meantime don't use the heating or light the fire if it has a back boiler.

Water pressure is indeed too low to push the water into the attic.

you can use your heating system as it will not affected by the storage tank that is dry.
