Hi there I am due to start a new job soon.
I was trying to work out what my net income would be and in doing so also had a few questions that I think I had answered by google but if someone could clarify I would be very grateful.
1) I start in September having been unemployed since previous August. My 2011 single and personal tax credits will be spread across 4 months for 2011 i.e. 12 months into 4.
2) As I have been unemployed for 12 months I will be entitled to the Revenue Job Assist tax credit of €3,810. However, I am unsure whether I calculate my gross tax and then reduce this by 3810 or take 3810 off my gross income when calculating my income tax? The reason I am unsure is because the former method of calculation means the Rev JA credit is more than the personal and PAYE credit combined?
Many thanks in advance
