I recently left my job with a voluntary severance scheme at the end of March and took the summer off with my kids. I did not approach SW as I had severance funds to tide my by etc. Now I am being offered a part time 20 hour job which pays €11 per hour plus commission. I am married and had transferred as much as possible of our tax credits to my husband who works full time some years ago.
I got a P45 from my former employer and I think I give this to the new employer. Do I also need to talk to the tax office? My question is will the tax office reset my tax credits for the remainder of this year given that I will now be earning a lot less then I used to earn (not to mention the 5 month gap).
Also if I earn commission above the €220 per week do I pay tax prsi usc etc on this too?
