say i bought an apartment three weeks ago ( not fully registered as new owner yet ) , say there was a tenant in situ in proprty who,s lease expires in a months time , once that lease expires , can i then begin to negotiate a new lease ( with a new higher rent amount ) with the tenant , or under these new rules , must the same rent amount remain in place once the goverment signs into law the two year rent cap ?
