New build - Floor pouring

Have started a new build which is contract built.Builders are currently finishing two layers of blocks for deadwork before pouring floor.
Guessing it wont take much longer before poring floor.How much must I know about pipes and location of same for water.Is it sufficient to tell them which wall in utility washing machine is going or do I need exact location for example?Any thing else I need to know before pour.
Any advice appreciated.

The more exact you can be with your locations the better, as you won't have unsightly pipes running along walls etc.
 
down stairs toilet, is a must, also the location of sinks and WM , especially if you do not wish to have the wate pipes running along internal walls
 
Havent even met with plumber, it all comes in under contract price so not my own plumber.Will have plans from kitchen co. soon and that will answer queries on that side of things.Up to me where washing machine etc. goes in utility
 
If your washing machine is in a built in unit then you need not be too precise now as the pipe work can be hidden in the backs of the cupboards. Likewise the kitchen pipe work although if you know the approx location of the sink then supply to the dishwasher will be taken from here and this is usually located beside the sink and again pipe work is hidden.

The toilet supply and waste and wash hand basin supply and waste is important though so I'd choose my sink and pedestal noe nd toilet and cistern also.

If I was doing it again I'd go for a half pedestal. supply and waste comes out from the wall. Much neater job imo - for cleaning floors etc. a pic here [broken link removed]

I have a few other questions you should ask at the floor-pouring stage, assuming there are pipe penetrations through the slab:

  • Do you have plans showing the positions of all fittings at this stage?
  • Have you placed all outlet pipes in positions to allow the floor to be cast around them?
  • Are they properly protected where they pass through the rising walls [haunching/lintols]
  • Do you have them collared through the radon gas membrane?
  • Have you placed the outlet pipe from your radon gas collector box?
  • have you placed your under-slab insulation yet?
