New boiler and rads?

Thinking of changing a boiler in one of rented houses to improve the heating. Existing boiler is oil. What kind of boiler, would ye suggest? How important is it to change the rads at the same time, could you do say the ground floor rads, and change the upstairs one later?

We changed the boiler in another house a couple of years ago, kept the existing rads, and it made a big improvement. It was suggested this time we change the rads aswell. But we not sure thats needed. House and boiler is about 20yrs old.

What sort of ball park figure. About 2k for the boiler and 4k for rads? Its about a 1300sq ft semi with about 4 decent sized rads downstairs and 3 upstairs.

Condensing boiler is a must. 2k including VAT would see it fitted with pump replaced. You may even get change.

Average the rads at €130 inc TRVs. that should cover it.

It may be a good idea to power flush the system before new boiler fitted. The system will improve no end.

how many btu would you need for a 1500 sq ft house?and for 2k ,would you recommend any particular boiler,eg grant vortex,firebird etc ?and would that include a burner as well or would my 2 yr old riello be ok.

Defo the Grant Vortex, a bit more expensive but is the dogs, yes it comes with the burner, your old riello (if its a g3) may not be up to the juts, rdb has a bigger fan and the umpf is required.

Make sure from Aug 1st a registered Oftec technician commissions the boiler as manufacturers are launching a 'warranty passport' scheme that mean if it hasn't be correctly commission by a registered technician then your warranty is void!
