Hi
My elderly uncle lives in 1/3 of the same house as my parents but he has never heard anything about the LPT.
So just wondering where he stands. He has a separate esb meter. Will he eventually have to pay it or next generation.
Any experiences or thoughts welcomed.
Kate

If you parents have paid that should be sufficient but if he has a life interest in the property or a right of residence of more than 20 years he would be liable. If there is more than one owner then they need to agree who will make the return and pay the tax.

If the house was sold tomorrow morning would it be as one dwelling? I'm thinking it would be so there you go. I guess i'm saying you shouldn't fix something if it's not broken.
