hi
just need advice, after years of neighbours complaining and i disliking the trees that were planted by a previous owner surrounding the boundery of my garden. i decided to remove them, i contacted my neighbours and the farmer who owed the laneway between properties, and told them i wanted to remove the trees on my land as they were overgrown on their side and dead on mine, and replace them with laural hedging and new chainlink fencing as the old was about 40 to 50 years old, noone had a problem with it. so i started it, but the neighbour across the laneway told us it invaded her privacy and she was getting her father(the farmer)up to put up 6 foot panels along our boundery right up againist the fence. we said we didnt agree with 6 foot but 5 foot would be ok, as the laurals would grow quickly enough and the fence makes my garden look horrible. there is no gap between fence and wooden panels so they look like their on my land. Can i make them cut the fence down to 5 foot or move it or it doesnt sit so close to my fence. the neighbours spent years complaining about the trees and now they want to keep their garden their way but i have to have this eyesore againist mine, it really annoys me that they took away my right to my garden after we didnt object to them building and growing their hedging boundery any help????

Chain Link fences can be pretty awful looking. Maybe they didn't like your choice and preffered their own type of fence?

If this fence is on their side of the boundary, you can't do anything. They have a right to keep their garden how they want. How is a fence inside their property interfering with your right to your garden?

Are they going to make you cut your hedging to 5ft.

You didn't look after the trees until they all died. Imagine what you are going to do to the hedging after 10 years
