Hi all,
I'm new & this is my 1st post. I have moved into a new house & my neighbour has massive evergreen type trees coming over the wall. The front door to my house is at the side & there is a passage way to it. The trees over hang into it & they make that area look dark & it seems damp all the time.
As I'm only new to the estate I don't want to start off badly, so has anyone any ideas to solve the problem??
Many Thanks,
Anthony

if they overhang property you own, you are within your rights to prune them back......

Hi,

Welcome to AAM.

You could try speaking with your neighbour to see if you can come to an agreement about the trees. Best to do this rather than cut them without discussing first. You are entitled though, as syd says, to cut them back and if necessary return the clippings to your neighbours AFAIK.

There are some previous discussions on neighbour's trees .

Thanks everyone. I think I'll have to go in & have a chat with him to see what he's willing to do. Its also forced me to park half my car on the grass because of the branches & its ruining the grass.
Thanks again,
Anthony

Your neighbour might not realise how far out the hedge has grown.
This happened me with my neighbour.
