I am currently in the process of filing my tax return for 08/09 & need some urgent advice please. I was contacted by Investment Recovery Services Ltd last April after the Company I worked for & held shares in went into administration.
They offered to make a claim for a tax refund on my behalf but wanted 25% of any pay out. After speaking to the IR I have decided to claim myself. My Qu is how do they calculate the payout due to me? The claims Co took the No. of shares registered & multiplied by £0.013377 ( any idea where this figure comes from anyone? ).
After the calculation I am then entitled to a maximum pay out at 40% according to their calculations.
Please can someone confirm or amend the above with a brief explanation.
Many thanks
