Have recently bought an old house and water very poor, so I will probably need to get water pipes changed from main road, up driveway, to our house. Has anyone any idea what kind of prices I should be looking at and do I need to contact water board?
In what sense is your water poor? Is it poor quality, poor pressure, dirty? If pressure is the problem then its possibly a problem in the main line which replacment of your own pipes probably won't fix. If it's dirty or of poor quality then leaving a tap running for a day or two might flush it out but get it tested to provide peace of mind.
If they do need replacing its a simple job within your own driveway but you may have to get the council to re-do the connection to the main.
