My Mum was born in Ireland and worked there before coming to live in England, she never claimed any State Pension from Ireland and I was wondering if any one knows if she would have been able to claim and also what the process would be.

Re: State Pension

She should apply through the DSS in Newcastle, as part of her normal application for a UK Pension. They will then forward a request to the Pensions Service Office in Sligo who will examine whether she is entitled to any pension from Ireland. If she worked here before 1979 she should supply her old Irish Insurance number and after 1979 her PPS number.

Do you have any idea when she worked in Ireland or for how long.
Have you got a PPS or old insurance number for her.
You should write to the Pension Office, State Contributory Section, College Road, Sligo. giving her Name, Insurance number, DOB, Maiden name, where and when she worked and any addresses that you Know of during her working life.
